For 4 days we tried making our way upwards
The underground world we called our home for so long
After the last war that destroyed not only cities
But the air plants and animals
The sea that day was black ash covered it in a thick layer
Chocking out even the fish
But then we fled underground to build cities and pray to survive
Until our world could heal its self
But grandmother said that was a few 100 years ago
That we were too afraid to come above ground
Seeking shelter inside the world we killed outside
But we are dying here without fresh air water and this thing called the Sun
When we step out I had to shield my eyes it burn it burn but it was oh so beautiful
Sky fire my first time at seeing it this thing in legends called SUN
